Since the Sept. Magazine the two major shed visits have been completed. The first, Prof. Barry Golding’s men’s shed study tour for a visit and meal was very successful with 57 in attendance. Lots of favourable comments, and Barry says we are probably now the largest men’s shed in the w...d ! but please don’t talk about this as you know what the tall poppy syndrome is like. Second visit, by Ballarat South Rotary Club, again for a visit and meal went very well. Similar numbers in attendance. Brian and Trevor spoke about the Shed and some of the maintenance issues we are facing. Their reports are on the notice board.
Good to see Bob back with us after his bypass surgery. His comments to the men are - know your family history because heart problems can run in families, and have a regular health check up.
Wayne had a fall from his bike on the way to the Shed a couple of weeks ago. No serious injuries, and the following week he was digging the front garden. You can’t keep a good man down!
Tony Bidwell has been busy making some stools and a bench. Someone else heard about them and so he has more orders. John Eagle has made a corrugated iron bar for Tim over the road. Heavy duty construction. The woodwork boys have been making a model car for a man in the disability support centre. Should be finished soon. Lots of guys making toys for stock and orders.
BRACE bike program
Tim Finch has been appointed co-ordinator of this project. With Tim’s bike experience he should be well suited to this.
